Year 5 & 6 Communion Church Service29 March 2022 (by admin) |
Dear Year 5 & 6 Parents/Carers
In Religious Education, Years 5 and 6 have been learning about the symbolism of the Christian Communion Service and its origins in The Last Supper. They have been learning why and how Christians remember Jesus’s sacrifice and how His death leads to the salvation of humanity from a Christian perspective.
To complement this learning, we have arranged for Rev. Lee Batson to hold a Communion Service on Thursday 31st March during our usual visit to church to mark Easter.
During this service, we will run through the words said and actions made by Christians all over the world. Children who usually take Communion in their own church will be able to take the bread (sharing of the wine is still not offered due to Covid) as part of the service.
We are hoping this opportunity will bring a deeper level of understanding of this unit than if the children are just watching films and reading about the service.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs L. Gardiner
