Welcome Back to School5 September 2023 (by admin) |
Dear Families,
We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer break and look forward to seeing you back at school tomorrow (Wednesday 6th September).
Reminder - change to our home time
As mentioned in our School Newsletter (July edition), the Department for Education have decided that, from September 2023, all schools must have a school week of, at least, 32.5 hours, which equates to 6.5 hours each day. To meet this requirement our school day will be changing slightly with an increase of 5 minutes on the end of the day with a new official finish time of 3.20pm.
We will continue to offer parents the ‘soft’ opening and exit meaning children can continue to be dropped off between 8.40am-8.50am and can be collected between 3.15pm-3.20pm.
P.E Days
Children will continue to wear their school P.E kit on the days (twice weekly) they have P.E sessions.
P.E will start this week - so please have your child wearing P.E kits on their set days.
P.E days for this term are:
Year 1 – Tuesdays and Thursdays
Year 2 – Mondays and Fridays
Year 3 – Wednesdays and Thursdays
Year 4 – Mondays and Wednesdays
Year 5 – Mondays and Tuesdays
Year 6 - Mondays and Tuesdays
Reception class will begin P.E sessions in November. The day of the week will be confirmed closer to the time.
Shine Clubs (our breakfast and after-school club childcare provider)
Shine Clubs reopens from our first day back to school.
Year 3 School Dinners
A reminder to our Year 3 parents, now that your child is in Key Stage 2, school dinners are no longer free, unless they are registered as a Free School Meal pupil. Please contact the school office if you are unsure if your child is on our FSM register, or if you need guidance with payments to the school, if you wish for your child to order school meals.
With Kind Regards,
Coopersale and Theydon Garnon C.E Primary School
