A message from our PTA:
It has come to our attention that there was some disappointment from some parents about their children not being allocated a space for the school disco last week. We acknowledge that it’s not ideal that all of the children were not able to attend and we would absolutely prefer that they could.
The PTA is made up of parent volunteers. All of us have families, jobs and other commitments. We are very passionate about making a difference for the children of our school by raising money, putting on fun events and making their school experience richer. But there are limitations to what we can offer and achieve. All events take considerable time and effort to coordinate and make safe and for some events such as the disco, we were limited on numbers due to the capacity in the school hall and the number of volunteers who are DBS checked and first aid trained. An option is to potentially increase how many discos we run per year so all children can attend at least one, however, we need more volunteers in order for this to be possible.
The PTA are always looking for people to contribute ideas, skills or time in order for us to do more. We can arrange for people to be DBS checked and first aid trained free of charge.
We are very open to constructive feedback on how we can improve, however we will not tolerate people being abusive.
