Science Week 10th to 14th March14 February 2025 (by admin) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to share our excitement for the upcoming British Science Week, which will take place from Monday 10th to Friday 14th March. This will be a fantastic opportunity for our children to explore the fascinating world of science and its many applications in our lives.
On Tuesday 11th March, we will be welcoming the Science Wizards company to our school for an exciting whole school science show, as well as hands-on workshops in the classroom. To help cover the costs of this enriching experience, we would like to ask for a voluntary contribution of £3 per child. Contributions can be given in cash (before or during Science Week), or you can contribute online through your online ParentMail accounts (available from today and closing on the 14th March).
Throughout the week, our classes will engage in a variety of science-based activities and investigations, all centred around the theme of ‘change’. We will be considering how science can contribute to saving our planet and the many industries out there that involve employment opportunities through science to help the children to see not all scientist wear white coats and work in labs! We believe that fostering an understanding of science not only enhances knowledge but also opens doors to future careers in this vital field.
Additionally, we would love to include insights from our school community in our ‘World of Science’ assembly. If any parents or family members have science-based jobs and would be willing to share a brief email about their roles, accompanied by a photo, we would be extremely grateful. Please reach out to Mrs Huke, our Science Coordinator, for further information. If emailing, please send to: office@coopersaletheydongarnon.essex.sch.uk with a subject line: ‘Attention – Mrs Huke re. Science Week’
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a vibrant place for learning. We look forward to an engaging and inspiring Science Week!
Kind regards,
Mrs Huke
Science Lead
